Frugal Friday - First Time

This is my first time participating in Frugal Fridays. My tip is one I just recently read, and you may already know, but it was new to me and I'm sharing it in case it is also new to you. If you have a large surplus of free shampoo or body wash, you can use it to fill up you liquid hand soap dispenser. We tried it with the free Suave shampoo from Wags a few weeks back and it works beautifully. For more Frugal Friday tips, visit Biblical Womanhood.

Hi Tara,

Thanks for your comment :o) The shampoo we tried this with is Suave Tangerine scent. It looks and feels exactly the same as Soft Soap Sun Ripened Peach, only it smells like tangerines. I was surprised that looks and feels so much like liquid hand soap. :o)

Thanks again for stopping by and for your comment :o)

I cut liquid soap with water, too, to make it go farther. It's a little runnier, but once the kids get used to it, it's no problem!

HI Melanie,

I've done that, too, especially when the container is almost empty. However, I have learned not to do it in the boys' bathroom, as the cut soap "shoots" out of the dispenser, and my sweet boys obviously still need to work on their self control. I've heard giggling and walked into a bathroom covered in watered down liquid soap one too many times. Now I only water down the dispenser in mine and dh's bathroom and in the kitchen. lol
